Q: Hello Mr Keirsey, how are u?
A: Hello, fine thanks.
Q: Can u tell me some hard facts about u?
A: I am a comissioner in the infantery of 1976 - 2000 and went couple of times back to Iraq. I was in the 86 Airborne Devision in the gulf war.
Q: What do u think, how close will reality come to life in Call of Duty 5 ?
A: You know, on the video screen u can only come so close as u can can get in a video game. In the reality u have sand, u have to smell the rubbing flesh and u have to wait a long time for the fight. U look out and wait for your opponent. You have very intensive fire fights and u get the audio. So, Call of Duty 5 comes close to the reality, but it doesn't matter. It's a very extensive experience in the game in getting close to the reality.
Q: Is it disturbing for a veteran like u to see war scenes like that in Call of Duty 5 ?
A: No, * zögert kurz * when i was intruduced in the Call of Duty staff, i saw this video game for the first time and i thought about it the whole night. In reality u make a mistake and you can die. In the Iraq I know many soldiers, who are playing this game. They come back from their patrol and go back to the secure area and play this game. I dont think, that other soldiers have a problem with the scenes or the stuff in Call of Duty 5, me, too.
Q: So u think it's okay to play this game?
A: Yes, its a good game and it teaches history. it's close enough, several people play this game, come to me and say 'what an interesting game'. They read a book, they are very interested and they read what maybe happend with their grandfathers. It's a great benefit.
Q: Which parts of the Game did u influence most with your experience?
A: Most of times for the Japanese, their defense, their base, their automatic weapons. Also the marine tactics, the flame throwers. I brought my experience and my knowlege of over 24 years in the game.
Q: Why did u choose to participate in producing a video game?
A: A good friend of mine, a professor in theoretic tactics in USA, told the COD5 Guys he knows a specialist for that topic. They searched someone with practice experience and they choose me. When I saw the game, the detail range of the game i was amazed. In this game u can learn something about the history and u honour the people, who died and fought in this world war. This was the reason why I decided to help them.
Q: Which job was more challenging? Instructing nerds, like game designers or privates?
A: *lacht kurz * well, I don't know what is harder. The thing to tell soldiers is, they have to do things. U gonna train hard, to spend a lot of time in the academy and u have to take care of them. The game designers take my expertise and experience, they use it. But sure, I am only an advisor, I just help them. they have to decide if they use my knowlegde or not. they make games, they have to decide what they use. I make soldering, many suggestions come true.
